Piet Biesheuvel
Piet Biesheuvel has managed long-term Security Sector Reform (SSR) and Safety, Security and Access to Justice (SSAJ) programmes in South Africa, Malawi & Uganda.
Piet has designed, implemented or reviewed SSR programmes in a wide variety of countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, North Africa, sub-Sahara Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and the Balkans. In 2005 and 2006 he conducted comprehensive reviews of UK-funded Police and Justice Reform programmes in post-conflict countries.
Piet is a former Superintendent in the UK police, with strategic experience in public order policing, firearms operations and media relations.
